At one point, we stopped because donkeys were in the road, while stopped, it dawned on us that some of the narrow dirt roads were 'open to the public'. So.. down the road we went, off and away from the traffic and boy were we rewarded with an incredible experience. Almost immediately happened on a several large bulls walking near the edge of the road. With the utmost of respected we slowed to a stop to better understand which way they were headed.. and then we proceeded slowly past. These guys are enormous and unpredictable, but beautiful and in excellent health. The photo above shows several females and calves; the young bulls are often seen alone in the field or laying in a hollowed out grassless spot where they lay still during the heat of the day.
